Rules
Setup
- Have 2+ players
- All players take 7 cards
- Decide starting player with RPS
Turn
- Play a card of the same color or number
- You must play if able
- You must say Uno on your last card
- If you don't say Uno & the next player plays/takes a card, take 2 cards
- If you finish with a penalty card, take 2 cards. Continue the game
Stealing
Stealing occurs when someone plays an identical card, ignoring other players turns (e.g. Green 5 on green 5)
- You cannot steal from yourself, except with the 0 card
- You may steal identical cards, even in battle mode
- If the current player and stealer place their cards simultaneously, the current player may place their card (Defender's privilege)
- You cannot steal if you have Uno
Battle Mode
Battle mode starts when someone plays a +2 or +4 card
- Played +2 & +4 cards accumulate during battle mode
- Penalty cards may be played during battle mode
- Penalty cards may be stolen by others if identical
- The current player may play swap or block cards regardless of color:
- The Swap card sends the turn to the previous player, inverting the turn-order
- The Block card sends the turn to the next player
- The Wild card cannot be played in battle mode during the first turn
- Otherwise, the Wild card sends the turn to the player with the lowest score
- If unable to play penalty cards, current player draws accumulated value of +2/+4 played during battle mode, then it's their turn.
- If a player started drawing cards, another player may still steal with a penalty card. Subtract the amount of drawn cards from the total, battle mode continues
Penalty Cards
- +2 | Next player takes 2 cards
- +4 | Next player takes 4 cards
- Blank/wild card | May be played on any card, choose a color the next player must play
- Swap | Invert turn-order (clockwise <> counter-clockwise)
- Block | Skip next player's turn
Scoring
- Round ends when someone plays their last card
- All cards are laid down and counted per person as follows:
- Number cards count as their face value
- Blank/wild, +2, swap and block cards count as 1
- +4 cards count as 20
- The total value of points remaining in each player’s hand is recorded on the scoreboard for that respective round
- When someone reaches a score of 100 or more at the end of a round, the game is over.
- Player with the lowest score wins.
Ties
- In case 3+ players tie for first or last place, those players play rounds of Uno until tie is resolved
- In case 2 players tie for first or last place, play sudden death
- Winner wins the game, score stays the same
- During battle mode if a blank/wild card is played, resolve ties by playing RPS
Sudden death 1v1
Rules during a 1v1 slightly deviate during 2 player tiebreakers
- No stealing (except 0 cards)
- Block/Swap cards skip your opponent's turn, you may play another card
- During battle mode:
- Blank/wild cards cannot be played
- Block & Swap cards send the turn to your opponent
